"Hope is the thing with feathers --
That perches in the soul --
And sings the tune without the words --
And never stops -- at all."
~ Emily Dickinson

chicken surprise
posted 4/3
A couple go for a meal at a Chinese restaurant and order the "Chicken Surprise."
The waiter brings the meal, served in a lidded cast iron pot. Just as the wife is about to serve herself, the lid of the pot rises slightly and she briefly sees two beady little eyes looking around before the lid slams back down.
"Good grief, did you see that?" she asks her husband.
He hadn't, so she asks him to look in the pot. He reaches for it and again the lid rises, and he sees two little eyes looking around before it slams down.
Rather perturbed, he calls the waiter over, explains what is happening, and demands an explanation.
"Please sir," says the waiter, "what you order?"
The husband replies, "Chicken Surprise."
"Ah! So sorry," says the waiter, "I bring you
Peeking Duck!"
thanks Margie for this pick-me-up!

Watch this elephant, rescued from abusive treatment in Burma, now paint an amazing self portrait. You'll be amazed at how his talent unfolds. So touched by their horrific backgrounds and loving personalities, ExoticWorldGifts.com now supports, "Starving Elephant Artisans" by selling their paintings so they can continue to have a new life in Thailand.

our beautiful
magnolia tree
planted in memory

forsythia
bush
blooming!
what a beautiful sight
with the deep blue sky behind
and the yellow
and white in abundance...

Take happiness when it comes, and rejoice.
Take love when it comes, and rejoice."

there's a lesson
to be learned in this little clip...
for me
especially...
life happens
and we grow
from it
despite ourselves
like little acorns...
if nothing else
we can laugh
upon reflection...
on the lessons that
life throws our way...
and oh how I can laugh!

passover blessings
posted 4/20
tonight at sundown
brought with it
the beginning
of passover...
together with Sukkot ("Tabernacles")
and Shavuot ("Pentecost"),
passover is one of the three pilgrim festivals (Shloshet Ha'Regalim)
during which
the entire Jewish populace
historically made a pilgrimage
to the Temple
in Jerusalem...
samaritans still make this pilgrimage to mount gerizim....
for my thoughts on the parallels
between passover and easter
and the spirit that
surrounds them both
i came across this wonderful video
of a traditional dance performed at the
seder of passover...enjoy
and happy passover one and all....shalom!
Adat HaMashiach's dance team dances to celebrate the Passover Seder.

well
he was the first winner
of star search...
yesterday's version of
american idol...
the following
is my humble contribution
to aid his cause...
war on war
mine isn't good enough to win
and i'm not saying this
just to feign humility...
it's not really a video
it's a slide show
in comparison to the
other contestants...
a beginning narration
and pictures accompanying
sam's music...
i just don't have the
right equipment....
but that was not my intent
anyway...
it was the statement
i wanted to make...
but if you'd like to vote anyway....
hey thanks!
if you're inclined
join me...
